Last Updated 02 April 2014, 19:31 IST

A software that compiles data of children across the State ‘Our Child Our Progress,’ was launched by Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Chairperson Umesh Aradhya, recently.

The child-tracking software, jointly developed by Child Rights Trust (CRT), an NGO, in association with Every Child and Hooduku IT Solutions, will compile age-wise details of children up to 18 years, including their religion, caste and disability. Aradhya said: “This is a very good initiative which will surely help the cause of children. However, we should ensure that data will not be accessible to wrong hands,” he said.

CRT Executive Director Vasudeva Sharma said the software would supplement the softwares being used by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, Department of Women and Child and Health department.

Felicitation

In another programme, the RTE Task Force felicitated principals of two schools and a parent for their involvement in enforcement of the Right to Education (RTE) Act. They are Principals of MM School in Tasker Town and Prakriti Vidyaniketan Public School in Hoskerahalli and C Suresh Kumar, a resident of Jayanagar.
