State gets Rs 116-cr drought aid

 A note by the Union agriculture ministry said the amount has been released from the Natural Calamities Contingency Fund and subject to adjustment of 75 per cent of balance available in the Calamity Relief Fund of the State.

The State Government had included items not admissible under NCCF norms and added that requirement for such items may be taken up with the respective ministries, the note added. “The State Government had also projected requirements for items on which activities have not yet been started on the ground by them. Accordingly, no assistance has been considered by the Inter-Ministerial Group for such items”, it observed (the demands from the states are dealt with by the GoM constituted for the purpose).
