Heavy rain lashed Karwar and Haliyal taluks of the Uttara Kannada district from Thursday night to Friday morning.
However, there was no rainfall in other parts of the district.
The continuos downpour in Karwar disrupted normal life in both the taluks, causing a lot of inconvenience to people.
Schoolchildren, some wearing raincoats while others taking refuge under umbrellas, trudge through the streets to reach their schools in Karwar.
The rains, however, stopped after 11 am in Karwar and there was sunshine.
