Two killed in separate accidents

Two people, including an elderly woman, were killed in two separate accidents in the City on Saturday night.

A labourer was killed while three others were injured when a goods vehicle they were travelling turned turtle in Electronics City traffic police limits on Saturday night. The deceased has been identified as Meke Suresh (21), a resident of Singasandra.
According to police, the accident occurred as the driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a curve. Suresh succumbed to injuries at a nearby hospital.

A speeding multiutility vehicle (MUV) mowed down an elderly woman while she was crossing road in Yogesh Nagar, Hebbal. Fathima, a resident of Chamundinagar, was returning home after visiting her daughter. She was tossed in the air and fell to the ground after the MUV rammed her. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she died, police said. The driver fled the spot, abandoning the vehicle.

Four vegetable vendors sustained grievous injuries when a truck rammed the goods vehicle they were travelling at Briand Circle, Mysore Road, on Sunday morning. Shankar Rao, Parashiva Gowda, Kamaru and Kunta Raju, all residents of KP Agrahara, were heading to City market to buy vegetables. All the four were trapped in the vehicle following the accident. The tipper driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot, police said.
