Vishwa Vachana sammelana in Delhi from October 19

Jnana Mandara Shaikshanika mathu Samskrithika Trust (Bangalore) will organise the second Vishwa Kannada Vachana Sahitya mathu Samskrithika Sammelana -2013 on October 19 and 20 in Delhi Karnataka Sangha.

Addressing press persons in Mangalore on Monday, Jnana Mandara Shaikshanika mathu Samskrithika Trust Founder Secretary H Somashekharan said that Kannada Sahitya Parishat former President Harikrishna Punaroor will be the President of the convention. The convention stage has been christened ‘Vishwaguru Basaveshwara’ stage.

Freedom Fighter Rudrappa Bhimappa Manchali will hoist the national flag on October 19 at 10 am. The Vachana Sahitya flag will be unfurled by Mumbai Karnataka Sangha President Dr G D Joshi while Boluvaru Samskrithika Kala Kendra President Chidananda Kamath Kasaragod will hoist Kannada flag. Shree Ramya Kalaranga (Hassan) President H Ramanna will flag off the procession, he said.

He further said that sessions will be held on Vachana literature from 4 pm onwards. During the inaugural function at 6 pm, the convention president will be honoured with a golden bracelet.

Jnanapith laureate Dr Chandrashekhar Kambar will deliver the keynote address of the convention and will confer ‘Basavashree’ award on various achievers. On the occasion, ‘Baalondu Bhavageethe,’ authored by H Somashekhar will be released by Minister U T Khader.

‘Karnataka Malla’ Editor Chandrashekhar Palethadi will release ‘Anubhava Mantapa’ souvenir. Shree Prabhu Chennabasappa Swamiji will grace the occasion, Maharastra MLA Jagannath Shetty, Dharwad former MLA Chandrakanth Bellada, Mangalore Ganapathi Educational institution President and Business entrepreneur Ramesh Krishna Shet and others will take part.

As part of cultural programme, there will be a dance performance by Geetha Saralaya and team on October 20. Students of Jnana Mandara Academy will present a dance drama. Special lectures and sessions on Vachana literature will be held 4 pm onwards. The sessions will be presided over by Dr R Guruprasad. The women’s session will be presided by Akkamahadevi N Hiremath and the Vachana Sahitya Gosthi will be presided over by Sharana M Kori.

‘Vachanashree’ award function will be at 6 pm. Karnataka State Small Industries Development Authority (Bangalore) Managing Director Dr C Somashekhar, AICC Chief Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP B K Hariprasad, Delhi Karnataka Sangha former President Venkatachala Hegde, Minister for Horticulture Shyamanooru Shivashankarappa, State Youth services, sports and fisheries minister K Abhayachandra Jain, Minister for Kannada and Culture Umashree, Alvas Education Foundation Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva and others will participate, Somshekhar said.

Nrithya BVharathi (Kadri) Director Geetha Saralaya, Lecturer Manjula Shetty and Ganapathi Educational Institution (Mangalore) President Ramesh Krishna Shet were present.
