JOIN US The Hennur police have arrested a 26-year-old mason on the charge of raping a three-year-old girl in HBR Layout on Saturday.
Biswas Berman, a native of Kolkata, was arrested by the police following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother. Berman allegedly lured the girl with chocolates, took her to a desolated place where he alleged to have sexually abused her. The incident came to light after the girl’s mother noticed her abnormal conduct. On questioning, the girl revealed the incident, police said.
Run over by car
A 45-year-old man was crushed under the wheels of a car near Hosur Gate on National Highway-7, in the wee hours of Saturday. According to police, Doddanna was travelling in the tractor when the speeding car rammed it from behind. As a result, Doddanna fell off the tractor and the car ran over him. Doddanna was killed instantaneously. Chikkajala police have registered a case.
Vehicles damaged
Five cars parked in front of the houses on second cross in Venkatarangapuram, Vyalikaval, were damaged after miscreants threw stones on them.
Windscreens and mirrors of the cars were smashed while a motorcycle was also damaged, police said.
