Highly decomposed male body found

Saraswatipuram police on Sunday recovered a highly decomposed male body from a vacant field at Vijayanagar fourth stage in the city.

The deceased, aged about 35 to 40 years, was found dead by a cattle rearer, who later informed the police. According to the cops, he may have died four to five days ago. A doctor attached to the Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC and RI) was summoned to the spot who conducted autopsy before burying the body at the same spot.

Police said, the place where the body was found is a wasteland and a channel connecting Kukkarahalli lake passes through it. Though no external injuries are found, police have booked a case of unnatural death. The investigators are waiting for autopsy report to ascertain the cause of death.

2 killed in run over

A 56-year-old railway gateman was killed after he accidentally came under the train while on duty at Akkihebbal, K R Pet taluk, Mandya district, on Sunday.

Jawara Nayaka, employed with the South Western Railway (SWR) is the deceased. He came under the Dharwad-Mysore train after closing the gate around 5.30 am. He was brought to Mysore in the same train. But, he had died in transit, according to the police.

A case has been registered.

In another case, a casual labour involved in railway doubling works near Paschima Vahini at Srirangapatna, was killed after she was hit by Shatabdhi train on Saturday.
Anjamma (33), wife of Lakshmaiah from Andhra Pradesh, is the deceased.

She was hit by the train around 2.30 pm, while crossing the track, said the police quoting her husband. Anjamma was tossed off to a distance after being hit by the high-speed train.
