Speaking to reporters in Bangalore, Thangadagi said the factory had liabilities of over Rs 60 crore, including Rs 25 crore to different financial institutions, Rs 18 crore to employees and farmers for sugarcane supply. Last date for submitting tenders is November 23. He said the government was committed to revive the factory and urged the farmers and employees to drop their agitation.
An inquiry had revealed that the administrative board had committed irregularities on several counts, including misappropriation of funds.
