The rigours of the college life

It’s a new beginning for the  of NMKRV College for Womg a new phase in their life but none of them sel out of place.

They settled down pretty well on day one itself. And for those who needed some time, the gave them a feel of the college and the standards of discipline.

Metrolife interacted with the students, who said that they were indeed looking forward to an eventful year ahead.  
 
Nita Konjengbam, a student of masters in , said, “Some of us were unclear as to where the course would lead us and the sectors we could work in after the completion of the course. The orientation programme helped in clearing our doubts. It’s a challenging and relevant subject to study and our lecturers explained how we should go about it,” she said.  

The orientation brought the students and teachers closer and the students felt comfortable to open up to their teachers. “During the orientation, we were introduced to our teachers. We soon realised that we could approach them at any time. During our interactions, the teachers asked us to come forward with our problems. They’ve been extremely supportive and friendly,” said Suhasini K, who is also pursuing a masters in women’s studies.

Interacting with seniors gave the freshers an idea about the dos and don’ts in the college. “Since I have studied in this college earlier, I settled down very quickly. We were also told about the various programmes scheduled for the year and the syllabus to be covered,” said Chaittrashree, an MCom student.

The bridge course, which takes the students through the basics in every course, is held to help the students brush up with the basics of every subject.

 “I’m glad that this is done. The session is an eye-opener and we realised how
competitive our class is. A lot of hard work is required but I am looking forward to the two challenging years ahead,” said Shubshini KC, who is pursuing her masters in chemistry.

Divya, another student said, “Although the classes were held only for a few hours everyday, it really made such a difference. Along with getting to know the college better, we also got to know our classmates well,” she said.
