Actress Poonam Pandey has always been caught on the wrong foot but she isn’t complaining.

Her barely there sense of dressing, bold nude and semi-nude appearances for several promotional activities have enraged a lot of people and even attracted some crass comments from a section of the political circle but Poonam couldn’t care less. “I am doing only what people want to see. They like my work and I will continue to do similar projects as long as people appreciate my work. This is what my fans want me to do,” Poonam says.

Poonam is doing an item number in the Kannada film ‘Love is Poison’. There are two reasons why Poonam accepted the offer – the song and big money. “The money is good and don’t you think the title really suits me?” she laughs.

Talking more about the song in the movie, Poonam says, “I danced continuously for 26 hours and the dance steps were quite difficult. I had to work on it non-stop until I got it right. The song has all the trappings of a
typical South Indian item number.”

Poonam says that she still hasn’t got over her stay in Bangalore. “My head is still reeling from all the dancing and tight shooting schedules. And the warmth of the people in Bangalore still remains with me,” she shares. Asked if she agreed with the title of the Kannada film, Poonam confesses, “I haven’t had any personal experiences but I’ve seen only break ups and people being betrayed in love. I don’t see any strong and long-lasting relationships anymore,” notes Poonam, who says that she too has had her good and bad times in love.

Poonam knows that she has set a lot of tongues wagging with the many roles she has essayed in a few films. “There are people who grab anything and everything that comes their way but I work on only those things that I am convinced about. I enjoy what I do,” she signs off.
