Higher Education Minister R V Deshpande said, here on Sunday, that the State government has decided to appoint 430 lecturers, in the first phase, to the first grade colleges.

“The State government had decided to appoint 930 lecturers to the first grade colleges, but the Finance department has given approval to appoint only 430 lecturers in the first phase. The government will soon issue notification on this,” Deshpande said.

He cited the amendment to Article 371 of the Constitution, according special status to the  Hyderabad-Karnataka region, for the delay in appointing lecturers.
