It’s not everyday that one finds an actress launching her own website. But seeing the growing need for it in the industry, Southern actress Parul Yadav of Govindaya Namaha fame decided that it was time for her to start a website that carries all the information about her and her body of work. Holding a simple launch at a City hotel, Parul expressed her delight at having come so far in such a short span of time.
The Mumbai lass, who became a household name after the song Pyarge Aagbitaithe, was in the City to shoot for a ‘special number’ in Shravani Subramanya.
She found it the perfect time to have her website launched by her producer Suresh, who introduced her in Kannada films through Govindaya Namaha.
“It’s really a proud moment for me today and I couldn’t have made it this far without all the support and love from my well-wishers,” said Parul.
It was in fact Parul’s personal experience that prompted her to start her own website.
“Being in Mumbai, whenever I was approached for a role by a film-maker, I would read about his or her work on the internet. That got me thinking and I felt that many people must be doing the same to get information about me. I felt that it would be easier if they got all the information about me from one site,” says Parul, who’s website is parulyadav.com.
The website, she says, will not only have her profile, movie stills and interviews but also video clippings and
“This way, my fans and people from the industry can view my website,” she says. Director of Shravani Subramanya, Manju Suraraj, says that the website would be helpful for directors as well.
“I feel more actors and actresses should launch official websites as it really helps the directors to get a better idea about the artiste’s body of work instead of sourcing their films and asking others,” he adds.
Pavan Wadeyar, the director who launched her, was the chief guest of the evening.
“Both Parul and I debuted in the same film. She is such a wonderful actress and talented as well. Now, I am looking forward to seeing her new website and wish her all the luck,” he adds.
