Hearing a PIL by the Five Year Law Course Advocates Association, which had moved the High Court seeking to clear the encroachments, the division bench comprising Chief Justice P D Dinakaran and Justice V G Sabhahit has ordered this notice.
The petitioners who had conducted a survey of the drains in the City have submitted that a report related to the encroachment of SWDs was submitted to the BBMP and Karnataka Public Land Corporation Limited, a wing of BBMP, which deals with this, but no action was taken to clear the encroachment. The petitioners had sought to clear the encroachments.
