4 KAS officers promoted to IAS

The State government on Friday issued orders promoting four KAS officers to IAS following clearance by the Centre.

The officers are Bellary Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) M Manjunath Naik, Raichur Zilla Panchayat CEO Muddumohan, Chikkaballapur CEO Neela Manjunath and Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company Managing Director A B Ibr­a­h­i­m.

The officers had approached the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) questioning their performance grading made in their annual confidential report stating that it had denied them promotion to IAS cadre. With the CAT ruling in their favour, the State government wrote to the Union Public Service Commission recommending their promotion, official sources said.
