Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, on Friday, attacked the Congress describing it as “a practitioner of hate and divisive politics in India.”

Naidu talking to mediapersons here said, “ Even before independence, the party indulged in divisive politics...and now it is pursuing it with renewed vigour to cater to its vote bank politics. How can the Prime Minister or the Congress vice-president criticise the Bharatiya Janata Party on that count.”

He alleged that since the Congress has failed on all promises it had made and is unable to justify its failure, it is now trying to divert attention by raking up communal issues to derive political dividends , “...but… it will boomerang on them.” The BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has rattled the Congress and “ thus is back to raising communal issues.” he said.

Naidu said that both Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and Muslim League were 'propped' up by the Congress.

Naidu also questioned the drop in the GDP from BJP-led NDA's 8.3 per cent to 4.8 per cent at present.
