One of the biggest honours will soon be bestowed on none other than Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. The actor is going to be the Indian Ambassador for the 2010 Olympic Games and the only star representing the global entertainment industry.

Akshay is a martial arts expert and practitioner, he was recently bestowed with the highest Japanese honour of the katana.
He has been the brand ambassador for Special Olympic (for handicaps), he shot for the 7 Deadly Arts for a channel and his recent first invitational Open Karate Championship was a huge success. The list of Akshay’s contribution to Indian sports is endless.

Adding to this list, Akshay Kumar will be the Indian Ambassador for the 2010 Olympic Games to be held in Canada.
Only 15 international celebrities have been invited to Canada to participate in carrying the Olympic Torch. Ontario has been identified as a province to have only one global celebrity representing the world and that celebrity is Akshay Kumar.
Reveals a source from the Olympic Committee, “At a high power and exclusive lunch for 50 CEOs of
Prominent Tourism
Companies, the Canadian PM will introduce Akshay Kumar as the sole torch bearer from India for the Olympics.”
“The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) will bring the Olympic Torch to the luncheon.”

Adds the source, “Anything remotely related to sports in India is reminiscent of Bollywood superstar
Akshay Kumar. He has taken Asia by storm and has
universal appeal.”
Akshay will speak on the occasion of being the sole torch bearer from India for the Olympics.
