<p>Force India team principal Vijay Mallya was not sure of his team putting up a good show in the Indian GP this time, but drivers Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil made the most of whatever the car had to offer to garner six points. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Di Resta, who finished 12th in qualifying on Saturday, drove a clinical race to finish eighth to claim four points, while Sutil knocked off four positions after starting 13th to finish ninth to grab two points.<br /><br />Force India’s incredible showing at their ‘home’ Grand Prix coupled with Sauber’s inability to come in the points bracket helped the Silverstone-based team extend their lead over them to 23 points.<br /><br />“It’s great to score points here in India. It is a really important race for us. We took an aggressive strategy by pitting at the end of the first lap to change from softs to medium tyres -- which was always the plan,” said Di Resta. “After that we effectively split the race in two and I pitted again for my second set of medium tyres on lap 30.<br /><br /> The other positive is that we’ve steadily improved the car over the last few weeks and I’m feeling more comfortable, so I think we can be optimistic of performing at a similar level in Abu Dhabi next week.”<br /></p>
