Gas pipeline to reach many parts of State: KSIIDC

The pipeline from Dabol will pass through Belgaum, Dharwad, Haveri, Chitradurga, Tumkur to reach Bangalore. The work on this plan will commence from 2011. Another pipline will provide connectivity to Kochi-Mangalore-Bangalore.

To provide facilities at tourist spots and with a view to promote tourism, he said KSIIDC has identified Belur, Jog Falls, Agumbe, Banavasi, Bijapura, Aihole, Pattadakallu, Badami and Gokarna.  In Belur, near Yagachi dam, in 10 acre land, a hotel, theme park, lodge, and other facilities will be provided. The project has been already handed over to Mahindra Holidays and Resort India. A estimated project of Rs 6,500 crore has been preapred to provide basic facilities in tourism spots and promotion of tourism.

He said global tender will be called for the construction of golf course and marine aquarium in Tannirbhavi. 150 acre land has been handed over to revenue department. The golf course will come up in 135 acre land at an estimated cost of Rs 40 crore.

Marine aquarium will be developed in 10 acre land at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore.
KSIIDC has already started the work on Mangalore and Puttur KSRTC bus stand projects. The blue print is being prepared for the construction of KSRTC office and guest house in 1.06 acre land in Bendoorwell. Bid has been called for Rs 20.7 crore project. The Puttur KSRTC bus stand will be beautified. The new bus stand coming up in 1.97 care land can accommodate 27 buses. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 14.2 crore. The blueprint for the development of bus stands in Hubli, Gulbarga, Belgaum is preapred.   The KSIIDC which was in loss has earned profit for the last three years.

In 2008-09, KSIIDC has earned Rs 27 crore profit, he informed.
