Arjun enters semis

Top seed Arjun Shriram fought off a stiff challenge from Keerthi Chidamparaivathan to enter the boys’ semifinals in the KTPPA-AITA under-12 talent series south zone national-ranking junior tennis tournament at the Bulldog Tennis Academy courts on Tuesday.

Arjun registered a hard-fought 2-4, 4-1, 5-3 win over Keerthi.

In the girls’ singles action, top seed Paarvi Patil, who had won an under-14 title last week, entered the semifinals with a facile 4-1, 4-0 win over Vanshita. BG Snigdha, Reshma Maruri and Shruti P also progressed to the last-four stage.
