The deceased were from Dakshina Kannada district and have been identified as Indira Shankappa Shetty (60), Iruvailan Sundari Monappa Shetty (65) from Muttur village, Padma Latha Rajesh Shetty (34) and her son Tushar (3) from Parodiya, Obayya Anni Shetty (45) from Padangadi and the driver of tractor, Vinay Edward Kotiyaan (30).
Five other members of the family who sustained serious injuries and are admitted at a local hospital. Two of the injured were shifted to Manipal Hospital for further treatment.
The family was on their way to Hubli to attend the baby shower ceremony of Indira Shetty’s daughter.
