One held for theft
Doddaballapura town police arrested one person on the charge of theft. The accused has been identified as Gangadhar alias Ganga. He had struck at a jewellery shop at Kaudahalli in Kollegal taluk and had decamped with 15 kg silver worth Rs 3.5 lakh. The police apprehended him for questioning in Doddaballapura recently, when he was wandering about suspiciously.
Bike lifter held
A bike lifter has been arrested and two-wheelers worth Rs 62,000 recovered from him, in Whitefield. Mahesh (24), resident of Whitefield was nabbed on Monday, the police said.
