A man walking home after watching a movie was run over by a speeding car on Ramamurthy Nagar main road in the wee hours of Wednesday.
According to KR Puram traffic police, Manjunath, 27, a driver, is the dead. The accident occurred around 1 am. The police have registered a hit-and-run case.
Head constable ends life
A head constable attached to state intelligence wing committed suicide at a guesthouse near the chief minister's residence on Kumarakrupa Road on Wednesday.
According to the police, the victim, Naniappa Gowda, 53, was living with his wife Jayashree and two children at the police quarters in Koramangala. He was on duty at the guesthouse next to the chief minister's house ‘Anugraha.’
On Tuesday night around 8 pm, he went inside a room in the guest house and hanged himself.
His wife panicked as he did not return home the next day.
When Gowda’s wife informed the state intelligence office, the officials broke open the guesthouse door and found him hanging.
