Nod for affiliation to 10 BEd colleges

Bangalore University Academic Council on Saturday approved affiliation to as many as 10 BEd colleges. With this, 49 out of 98 BEd colleges under the BU have been accorded approval for affiliation. 

At the Academic Council meeting, the members decided to approve affiliation for only ten colleges out of the 30 colleges recommended by two local inquiry committee (LIC) headed by Prof Jagadeesh  P, Department of Communication, and Prof B C Prabhakara, Department of Geology. 

“The final decision will be taken in the Syndicate. Later a committee will be sent to review infrastructure, following which the proposal will be sent to the government for approval,” said Vice Chancellor Prof B Thimme Gowda. The university Syndicate meeting will be held on Monday.
 Ramanagar PG centre

The University plans to begin courses at the Ramanagar PG centre from next academic year. Though the centre doesn’t have own building now, the courses will be run from two classrooms identified for the purpose in the Sericulture department on Bangalore-Mysore Road. 

Appointment

At the Council meeting, the draft statutes for the PG centre were approved. The statutes will come into effect from 2014-15. 

The courses to be offered are PG in MSW and MCom. Two professors, four associate professors, six assistant professors will be appointed, apart from the non-teaching staff.
