Cong to appoint dist chiefs by Dec 15

The process of appointing presidents and office-bearers to various District Congress Committees and Block Congress Committees would be completed by December 15, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwara said on Saturday.

Speaking at a meeting of representatives of various frontal organisations of the party in preparation for the Lok Sabha polls in Bangalore, Parameshwara said the appointment of presidents of various block congress committees would be taken up in consultation with the jurisdictional legislators.

In all, there are 455 block Congress committees in the State. 

Parameshwara said as per the instructions of All India Congress Committee vice president Rahul Gandhi, all the frontal organisations of the party including student, women, youth, minority wings and seva dal will have to keep the party State and central leadership informed about their activities on a monthly basis.

The coordination committee with members from the party and the government will have to mandatorily meet once every month, he said.
