20-year-old ends life

Aditya Nadig, 20, was a student of APS College and resident of 5th Cross, Sri Rama Nagar, Ittamadu Main Road in CK Achutkattu. Police said Nadig had participated in several television shows and won many awards.

Recently, he had got a chance to sing in Hindi films and was supposed to fly to Mumbai for audition, next week. Aditya was pestering his father to arrange for his air tickets.

On Thursday night, his father, a retired commercial tax inspector, advised Nadig to complete his education and then take up music seriously. Next day morning, when he did not come down for breakfast, the family members peeped through the window only to see his body hanging from the ceiling fan hook.

Nadig had destroyed the SIM card of his cellphone and has not left any death note.

Five arrested for thefts

Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested five persons and recovered stolen goods worth Rs 15 lakh.

The suspects were Nazir, 21 and Mukalesh, 30, both residents of JJ Nagar, Prakash,
29, of Thyamagondlu, Rajesh, 31 and Mohammed Ghouse, 36, both residents of T Dasarahalli.

The suspects committed thefts in Yelahanka, Rajagopalnagar, Subramanyanagar, Kamakshipalya, Jalahalli and Byapanahalli in shops, business outlets. The police recovered one tonne of brass materials, 800 kg copper material, five kg silver coins and 200 kg machine tools from the arrested.
