<p>The Press Club of Bangalore held a drama festival on the occasion of completing 45 years recently. The three-day event was inaugurated by Jnanpith awardee Chandrashekara Kambar and Sadananda Maiya, MD, MTR Foods Ltd. <br /><br /></p>.<p>On the first day, the popular Kannada comedy play ‘All the Best’, directed by Yashwant Sardeshpande, was staged. The play revolves around three friends — Chandru, Dilip and Vijay. While one can’t hear, the second one can’t speak and the third one is visually-challenged. These three physically-challenged people fall in love with the same woman. <br /><br />The play has been a huge hit and the troupe has staged over 1,000 shows across the State. <br /> <br />On the second day, Kannada play Uttarabhoopa Beechi directed by Archana Shyam was presented. The play, which is the stage adaptation of Kannada humourist Beechi’s column in a magazine, is known for its one-liners and the message given out by the writer. <br /><br />The play, which has been performed before packed houses, is considered to be one of the best comedy plays in Kannada. <br /><br />On the last day, Rabdi, a play directed by Nithish, was staged. The play is about the lives of software professionals and the difficulties they face while handling their family problems. <br /><br />While the first two plays were humourous, Rabdi takes a serious look at the problems of present generation. The event was open only to the members of Press Club and their families. Altogether, nearly 700 people attended the shows.</p>
