Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwara on Tuesday said that Unique Identification Authority of India Chairman Nandan Nilekani had expressed his willingness to contest from the Bangalore South Lok Sabha constituency on a party ticket.

“Nilekani sought the party ticket from the Bangalore South Lok Sabha seat and decision on fielding him is left to the party high command,” Parameshwara told reporters here. Though the party rules say that ticket seekers should serve in the organisation for three years, the rules can be relaxed with the permission from the party high command,” he said.
