Christmas stalls

The All-India Anglo Indian Association, Bangalore is having their annual Christmas function at the Frank Anthony Public School, Cambridge Road, Ulsoor on December 21, from 10.30 am to 7 pm.

There will be a number of stalls, including those with food catered by mainly Anglo-Indians, games and handmade products.

There will also be games like ‘Housie’ played during the course of the day. It will end with a tea party and Santa Claus arriving with gifts for the children.

The ‘Smirnoff Experience Festival’ will be held on December 21, from 5 pm, at Manpho Convention Centre.

Tarantismo Creative Dance Company is holding auditions on December 21, 3 pm at Smriti Nandan, Vasanthnagar for full-time and part-time members. All those
selected will receive free training in various dance styles and chance to perform with Tarantismo. They will also get the opportunity to learn various aspects related to dance such stage craft, the art of lighting, sound management etc. For details, call 8884758838.

‘The Shawl’

SparkPlug Theatre Co is presenting the play, ‘The Shawl’, by David Mamet at Jag­riti Theatre, Whitefield
on December 22, 3 pm and 6.30 pm. It is directed by Nakul Bhalla.

‘Rama Katha’

Bharatanatyam dancer Sathyanarayana Raju will present Rama Katha on
December 22, 7.30 pm at ADA Rangamandira. Rama Katha takes one briefly through some of the facets of Rama’s relationships. Some of the lyrics are from compositions by great saint poets like Hanuman Deva, Yentani Ne Varnintune etc. Some interlinking lyrics have been written and composed by DS Srivatsa.    The dance choreography is by Sathyanarayana Raju while the concept and coordination is by Usha RK.

‘Fusion Dreams’

‘Fusion Dreams’ by classical and world fusion violinist (UK) Jyotsna Srikanth, will be held on December 22, 8.30 pm, at BFlat, Indiranagar. Jyotsna Srikanth will perform along with an accomplished jazz trumpet player from UK and Bangalore musicians Sha­dra­ch Solomon on the keyboards and Karthik Mani on drums.

Paying tribute

Awaz De Kahan Hai, a musical programme by Ekta Shah to pay tribute to

‘There Can’t...’

On December 21, 5.30 pm, the William Joseph International Academy for Performing Arts will present ‘There Can’t be a Christmas Without Music’ at William Joseph International Academy for Performing Arts, 687, 6 A Cross, 3 Block, Behind BDA Complex, Koramangala. The evening would feature the ‘William Joseph Chamber and Chorale’ under the direction of Ashley Williams. Entry is free.

Mellifluous notes

Vocal strains

A Carnatic vocal recital by Subhalakshmi Krishnamoorthy will be held on December 22, 6 pm at Sri Ram Mandira Trust, Coconut Avenue Road, 7th Cross, Link Road, Malleswaram. She will be accompanied by TS Krishnam­oorthy (violin), MR Sainath (mridangam), Dayananda Mohite and Bhagyalakshmi M Krishna (morsing).

Flea market

Kannada play Nam Thim Thana will be staged on December 21, 7 pm at KH Kalasoudha, Hanumanthanagar.

Lights on

‘Some Times’, a play written by Adhir Bhat and Bobby Nagra, will be held on December 21 (7.30 pm) and 22 (3.30 pm and 7.30 pm), at Ranga Shankara. It is directed by Adhaar Khurana. The cast includes Karan Pandit, Sarang Sathaye, Chaitnya Sharma and Kashin Shetty.

Global steps

The International Arts and Cultural Foundation is prese­nting Nartana Avartana, a glo­bal Indian classical dance by Lakshmi Khanna and Ajith Bhaskaran Dass, in association with ICCR, at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on December 21, 6 pm.
