TV channel editor held for sexual harassment

TV channel editor held for sexual harassment

Tamil Nadu police arrested the Editor of Captain TV, a Chennai-based news channel, on Sunday on a chargeof sexual harassment. The complaint was lodged against him by his former colleague.

According to the sources in the police headquarters here, Dinesh Kumar, 26, was picked up from his house by the police in the early hours of Sunday. He was later remanded in judicial custody.

The police registered a case under sexual harassment act on Kumar. The complainant, who worked as a Sub-Editor with the channel, was removed from work a few days ago.
An official release from Captain TV, however, denied the allegations against Kumar and said it was a "false complaint".

Dinesh had recently led a protest against the police, seeking action against a group that attacked a reporter of the channel.
