The victim has been identified as Shaukat Ali, a resident of Singsandra. According to the police, he is suffering from mental illness for the last one year which led him to take such extreme step.
“The incident happened at around 10.30 am. According to his family members, he was under treatment in NIMHANS for the last two months following his illness.
It is not clear how and with whom he came to the Bugle Rock Park where he tried to commit suicide. He is now out of danger.
