Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President G Parameshwara on Sunday began holding one-to-one meetings with ministers, sitting and former MLAs and the party’s district presidents to shortlist candidates for Lok Sabha elections.

Leaders from the revenue divisions of Gulbarga (Bidar, Gulbarga, Koppal, Raichur and Bellary Lok Sabha constituencies) and Mysore (Dakshina Kannada, Udupi-Chikmagalur, Mysore, Hassan and Mandya) interacted with Parameshwara and Siddaramaiah.

The meetings are being held on the directions of the Congress vice president, Rahul Gandhi, who has said that inputs from local leaders be taken before candidates for the LS polls are finalised. Sources said the two leaders sought three names from local leaders on their choice of candidates for each constituency.
