<p> V P Baligar, a Karnataka-cadre IAS officer on deputation to the Centre, has been promoted to the rank of secretary.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Baligar, a 1980-batch IAS officer, is presently the Chairman and Managing Director of the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (Hudgo), where he serves in the rank of additional secretary.<br /><br />Baligar will continue to remain at the helm of Hudco even after his promotion. He served as the principal secretary to the then chief minister B S Yeddyurappa. He is the fourth secretary-level officer from Karnataka cadre, who is now working at the Centre.</p>
