Baligar promoted

 V P Baligar, a Karnataka-cadre IAS officer on deputation to the Centre, has been promoted to the rank of secretary.

Baligar, a 1980-batch IAS officer, is presently the Chairman and Managing Director of the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (Hudgo), where he serves in the rank of additional secretary.

Baligar will continue to remain at the helm of Hudco even after his promotion. He served as the principal secretary to the then chief minister B S Yeddyurappa. He is the fourth secretary-level officer from Karnataka cadre, who is now working at the Centre.
