Rahul's visit: Security rehearsal at Palace Grounds

The City police have tightened vigil at the Palace Grounds where Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will address a meeting on Saturday. The security rehearsal was held with complete police strength at the venue on Thursday.

Kamal Pant, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), said, “There are certain points which we are focussing on, the first one is the landing spot at HAL Airport, where adequate security will be provided both inside and outside the airport. The second component, the road which the Congress vice-president takes, will be monitored by the police and the traffic police will help in regulating the traffic from the airport till the venue.”

“The venue will have around 700 police personnel and frisking measures will also be put in place. No member of the public is allowed without a pass for the rally. The venue is also equipped with CCTV cameras and the entire programme will be monitored,” Pant added.The police would be strict in monitoring and frisking people and would make sure no untoward incident occurs.
