Last Updated 10 January 2014, 12:22 IST

Chaat Wala, located near the Jyoti Nivas College in Koramangala, is a haven for students as well as youngsters who love to binge on this popular street food. Spicy, flavourful and crunchy, the variety of chaats and other delicacies sold here explains the crowd in this place.

Ranjeeth, the owner of the eatery, says that he wanted to promote chaats and other North-Indian specialities, hence he opened this eatery.

“The area is teeming with youngsters all the time and almost all of them like to have a quick snack. Our specialities are the chaats and the North Indian thalis. We have been getting a great response from people in the City. Be it students or professionals, everyone visits the eatery,” he says.

A wide variety of options like thalis, chaats, desserts and innovative combos make this place a must visit.

There is a lot in the offing for chaat lovers — like kachori chaat, samosa chaat, aloo tikki chaat, aloo tikki pav, misal pav, ragda tikki, khasta kachori, aloo bonda, fruit chaat, raj kachori, mix chaat etc. Those who prefer to have a sumptuous meal at the eatery can choose from a host of innovative combos like chicken tikka naan or rice combo, malai kabab naan or rice combo, reshmi kabab naan or rice combo, a barbecue combo or a paneer tikka combo.

Besides the lip-smacking food, the highlight of the eatery is its interiors.

The chaat counter has been designed in the shape of an actual chaat cart and the food is cooked and dressed right in front of the customers.
The bright, well-ventilated space adds to the experience of eating at the restaurant.Ranjeeth adds that the cooks here have specialised in making chaats and hence, the dishes are quite authentic.

“We do keep the choices of the customers in mind while preparing the dishes. If a customer asks us to cut down on the spices and the chilies, we do that immediately. While many want us to add an extra layer of butter in the parathas, some want it less oily,” he says.

Those looking for a quick snack can choose from sandwiches like ‘Bombay veg sandwich’, veg grill sandwich, kheema sandwich, chicken grill sandwich etc.

The eatery does not disappoint those with a sweet tooth either. From chilled lassis, milkshakes like banana, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and ice-creams like kulfi falooda, mutka kulfi, stick kulfi and burf ka gola, there is something for everyone. Sweets like gulab jamun, rasgulla and rasmalai are also available at the eatery. An ultimate den for those who love the hot and spicy chaat, the prices of the dishes are quite affordable.

The eatery is located at No 59, 5th Block, JNC Road, Koramangala. For details, call 25524450.
