Sammilan 09 will witness some of the most dynamic Indian and international artistes performing on the same platform. Through Sammilan 09, KAPA will be raising funds for teaching Kalaripayattu to children residing in an orphanage.

KAPA presents a rich flavour of traditional Kalaripayattu alongside three special performances — Vipasana, Musical Combat and Srishti. Vipasana will consist of a stellar performance by Maja Drobac, a well-known dancer-choreographer from Croatia.

Musical Combat, choreographed by popular dancer Veena Basavarajaiah, will be performed by the senior artists of PKB Kalari Sangam, Kerala. Srishti is a creation of Roopa Ravindran, a classical and contemporary dancer-model-actress.

In this dance composition, Roopa will pay respect to the majestic animals roaming our forests, which historically symbolise grace, speed, power and beauty. Srishti will be performed by the senior artists of KAPA.

Sammilan 09 will be held on November 28 at the NMKRV Auditorium, Jayanagar at 7 pm. For details, call 9945155995.
