A Swiss national was found dead at her residence in Anjanappa building, Maruti Layout, near Belathur bus stand, Kadugodi, on Tuesday.

According to Kadugodi police, Maria Freida Loup, 70, might have died around five days ago due to old age.

She was staying in a two-bedroom rented house for the past one year and had come to India in 1990. Supposed to be  a devotee of Satya Sai Baba, she was serving as a music teacher at Sai Baba Ashram in Whitefield.

When neighbours noticed that she was not seen for four days, they went to her house and found the door locked from inside. There was no response when they knocked on the door. A foul smell emanated from the house. The neighbours, who grew suspicious, alerted the police.

The police gained entry into the house and found Maria dead in the bedroom. No death note was found.

“We are trying to get in touch with her family members. A case has been registered,” said the police.
