God will decide next PM, says Salman Khan

Actor Salman Khan savoured lunch and flew kites with Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi during Uttarayan here, and said god would decide who “is the best man” to become the prime minister.

He showered praise on Modi for the development in Gujarat.

“God will decide the best man for Bharat, for India,” Khan said while making it a point to describe Modi as a good man.

“I like Modiji,” Khan said. The people of each constituency will have to decide who is best for them.

He also pointed out that while for the people of Gujarat Modi is the best man, it is Priya Dutt and Baba Siddiqui for him in the Bandra constituency.

“Modi sahib ka takdir mein jo hain, who unko milega,” (whatever is there in Modi’s destiny, he will get it) Khan said, avoiding a direct endorsement for his prime ministership.

Earlier, Khan had lunch with Modi and apart from uploading a couple of pictures from the meeting on Twitter, Modi tweeted, “Having Undhiyu for lunch with Salman Khan.”
Undhiyu is a Gujarati delicacy during Uttarayan.

“It was good to see Salman Khan trying his hand at flying kites. He flew the kites well,” he tweeted later.

Several actors from the Hindi film industry have been visiting Modi over the years. Many of them have even campaigned for him. However, the “Dabangg” actor’s meeting with Modi assumes significance as the prime ministerial candidate is being seen to be reaching out to the Muslim community at this point.
