Media symposium tomorrow

According to a press release, MIC Honorary Director Dr M V Kamath will preside over the symposium. The sessions will be chaired by Head of the Centre for Philosophy, Professor and Dean, School of Humanities, National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore, Dr Sundar Sarukkai. The symposium will have paper presentations by international scholars, which will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Prof Varadesh Hiregange from MIC.

The speakers for the satellite symposium include eminent research scholars from across the globe. Founder and director of the Global Communication Association Yahya R Kamalipour, Assistant Professor in International Communication and Media at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Netherlands Payal Arora, Professor of Communication at the Northern Illinois University Orayb Najjar and Director of Program in Chinese Media and Communication Studies, Duke University Liu Kang are some of them.

The symposium is an extension of the GCA India Conference 2009 held at Bangalore on November 26 and 27 on the topic ‘Global Village - Are we there yet?’, the release added.
