Last Updated 19 January 2014, 19:52 IST

Stalemate continued between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district for the third consecutive day on Sunday following the arrest of a Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK)-based truck driver by Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly smuggling drugs.

PoK authorities have reportedly detained 25 Kashmiri drivers along with their trucks, demanding the release of the driver and the vehicle from that side which was reportedly being used for smuggling 114 packets of brown sugar.

Officials claim that Pakistani authorities also refused to take 46 trucks from PoK back until the seized truck was also allowed to go.

Sources told Deccan Herald that officials from both sides held deliberations over the issue but it remained inconclusive.
