CFTRI director attack; 4 out on bail

Four Kannada activists who were arrested on the charges of throwing ink on the director of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) in the city recently, have been released on bail.

The magistrate of fourth ASM court ordered the release of four on the surety of a government servant, according to Jayalakshmipuram police. The next hearing is on February 5. Following the attack on the director Ram Rajasekharan on January 9, the police had arrested four of the six accused in the case.

They were Kiran Kumar, aged 28 years, district president of KRV and Mysore unit real estate agent, from Subramanya Nagar, also the prime accused in the case; Nandish, 26, tiles worker from Kanakagiri; Sunil Kumar, 28, a professional photographer from Kanakagiri; and Anand, 26 from Hebbal. Two absconding persons have applied for anticipatory bail.
