Actor Ramesh Aravind has always attempted the impossible. He never ceases to amaze his fans with his exceptional body of work. Ramesh is one among the few senior actors from the Kannada film industry who has acted in countless Tamil, Telugu and of course, Kannada films.

His latest directorial is a bilingual Uthama Villain, which stars his close buddy Kamal Hassan who has also written the script for the film.

Ramesh says that he and Kamal have been planning something on these lines for a long time. The two have also managed to rope in their mentor, ace yesteryear director K Balachander to don the grease paint for the film.

“Kamal and I were discovered by K Balachander. We started our careers under his guidance,” says Ramesh. He further states that the film will cast a varied and unexpected ensemble.

Uthama Villain is in its last stage of pre-production and the shooting is set to take off in a few weeks time. The film will be a family entertainer with loads of action
sequences thrown in to keep the audience at the edge of their seats.

This project has kept Ramesh on his toes and he hasn’t really signed any other project.  But he has readied two scripts. One is a big budget, mass entertainer and the other a love story. “I’ve acted in most of the films for which I have written the script but here are two stories, which have to be done by somebody else.

One is a mega revenge thriller, which is straight out of a classic tale and the other a love triangle story, more of a musical, which is targeted at the young,” notes Ramesh. Amidst his tight schedule, Ramesh grabbed some time to attend the annual get-together of the film fraternity that was held at actor Mohanlal’s residence in Chennai recently.

The ‘old gang’, as they like to call themselves, comprising of stars like Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Rajnikanth, Suhasini, Ambika, Ambarish and Sumalatha and a few other tops stars, met recently. Ramesh was perhaps the youngest of the lot. “The get-together was a close-knit affair. With no media glare, the stars got to be themselves.

I was floored by Mohanlal’s magic, which I’ve seen only on the big screen. We spent quality time talking about almost everything under the sun including our families,” Ramesh signs off.
