IAC volunteers join Binny in protest against Kejriwal

Last Updated 27 January 2014, 10:26 IST

Volunteers of India Against Corruption which had spearheaded the Jan Lokpal stir by Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal today joined expelled AAP MLA Vinod Kumar Binny in his protest against the Delhi Chief Minister.

"Instead of sacking Law Minister Somnath Bharti who had misbehaved with African women during a midnight raid, Kejriwal has taken action against Binny, which is very unfair," IAC's media representative Surendra Singh said.

He said that IAC volunteers had come forward to support Binny as he had been taking up public-related issues.

He said that more IAC volunteers will join Binny in the dharna against Kejriwal.

"50 volunteers of IAC have come here to join the Dharna. As today is the day one of Binny's protest, many of our volunteers could not come. They will participate tomorrow in the Dharna in a large number," he said.

Alleging that the AAP leader has duped Delhi residents by making false promises during elections, Singh said, "Kejriwal has not fulfilled his promise on electricity and water. Around 92 per cent residents of Delhi are now feeling cheated."

Kejriwal was once a part of India Against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare to fight against corruption. However, Hazare parted ways with Kejriwal following his decision to form a political party.

Binny was expelled from AAP following a decision by the AAP's disciplinary committee.Binny had called Kejriwal a "dictator" and accused the party of "betraying" the people of Delhi by backtracking on its election promises.
