Upset over loss, factory owner commits suicide

After suffering losses in business, a factory owner committed suicide by hanging himself in his factory godown in 6th Block, Magadi Road on Friday evening.

 According to Magadi Road police, Ratan Lal, 40, from Rajasthan, was running a factory which used to manufacture plastic pipe, but suffered losses. Recently, he had vacated the factory and turned it into a godown which was not used regularly. On Friday morning, he went to the godown and hanged himself, using a plastic wire, the police said. There was no death note. He is survived by his son Rajesh and wife. A case has been registered at Magadi Road police station.

Chain snatchers held

The CCB officers, along with the jursdictional police, carried out a raid and arrested several people suspected to be involved in chain-snatching incidents in Hennur police station limits and Hanumanthnagar police station limits, recently. 

The CCB also raided some pawnbroker shops and recovered 18 gold chains weighing 700 gram, worth Rs 20 lakh. They also recovered two motorcycles used to committ the crime. According to the police, John Paul D, 35, Suresh, 40, Srinivas, 30, and Ramesh Kumar, 32, all from Bangalore, were arrested by the CCB. 

They also arrested Achal Ram, 45, and Bhagirath, 20, for buying stolen oranments from them. They used to target lone women on empty roads and snatch their chains before fleeing. They have committed crimes in various parts of the City and cases have been booked in several police stations.
