Man arrested for betting

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested a man running a cricket betting racket in Jnanabharathi police limits. 

 Rajendra Kumar, 36, from Nagarbhavi II Main is the arrested. The CCB seized stake money of Rs 1.15 lakh along with a laptop, a television set and mobile phones. He used to cheat people by asking them to bet with him but never paid them. Several cases related to cricket betting have been registered against him in various police stations.

Laptop thief arrested

Soladevanahalli police have arrested a youth who used to steal laptops from a college in the City. 

According to police, Yunus Shariff, 19, has been arrested and nine laptops worth Rs 3.5 lakh recovered from him. He used to enter the soft rooms of students in Acharya College where they used to keep their laptops. The moment he found no one was around, he would load the laptop in his bag and make away with it. He has stolen several laptops in similar fashion. The police are interrogating him on how he gained entry into the college. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
 Tailor ends life

Imtiyaz Khan, a 27-year-old tailor, allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Vinoba Nagar, KG Halli on Thursday. He reportedly hanged himself over some domestic issue. The incident came to light on Friday morning after his pregnant wife spotted him hanging inside a room.
