BSK Road named after Vishnuvardhan

A total 14-km stretch from Banashankari Temple Circle, Kadirenahalli Circle and Srinivasapura (Mylasandra), towards Kengeri, was named after Kannada thespian, late Vishnuvardhan on Sunday.

Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, who was present during the occasion, said: “I am happy to know that a road has been named after a classic actor like Vishnuvardhan. The government will extend support to the Vishnuvardhan Memorial Trust in its activities.”

Bangalore South MP Ananth Kumar suggested that the BBMP should install a statue of Vishnuvardhan, on the lines of Rajkumar, that was recently unveiled at the South-End Circle, Jayanagar. Padmanabhanagar MLA R Ashoka maintained that shopkeepers located on the stretch should change the address on the nameboards to Vishnuvardhan Road.

Mayor B S Satyanarayana, Bharati Vishnuvardhan and actor Anirudh were present. Kengeri traffic police said the traffic had to be diverted slightly around 5 pm, for the event.
