Officials raking moolah out of 'drain'

The drains was constructed on double road near park and Mathrusree hospital to facility easy flow of water coming from Jhansi ground and Anjani Layout respectively. However, the height of the drains were short resulting in over flow of water and flooding the road, obstructing vehicular movement and created a filthy environment.

The dereliction of duties on the part of the officials is clearly visible as they failed to build a drain with considerable height which would avoid over flowing. The officials are now demolishing the drain on the pretext of heightening it.The traffic has been severely affected from past two month as a stretch on the double road near park and Mathrusree had been closed for the works. Now gain at the same places another portion of the road has been closed for works.

This has angered many residents who are questioning the logic behind such works and futility of public money. Some of the residents alleged that officials had been resorting to similar kind of work in other developmental works undertaken in the town. The officials hand in glove with contractors are repeatedly doing same work and are pocketing huge amounts of money. Action must be taken against such officials and the loss of amount should be recovered from them, residents demanded.
