Ch'nagar-B'lore train service to commence soon

M P R Dhruvanarayan stated that work on the 142 km new railway line from Chamarajanagar to Bangalore via Kollegal, Malavalli and Kanakapura will be inaugurated shortly, here, on Thursday.

He was speaking during the review meeting of the ongoing works in Chamarajanagara region. “Focus will be given on completing the first phase, which opens up the hinterland, besides providing an alternative route between Bangalore and Chamarajanagar,” MP added.

Early morning train

Dhruvanarayan requested Railways to introduce an early morning train from Chamarajanagar to Bangalore for the benefit of the people of Chamarajanagar and its surroundings. He also wanted Railways to run more number of trains between the pilgrim town of Nanjangud Town and Mysore.

Rajkumar Lal, Divisional Railway Manager, SWR assured the MP to put forward the proposals.  He informed the MP that the Railways was committed to providing all basic amenities to passengers across the Division, duly prioritising the works based on availability of funds. 

He further stated that necessary improvements for handling of goods traffic of Food Corporation of India at Chamarajanagar would be completed in the next one week.
