Cool moves light up the night

As part of the ‘Ciroc Fridays’ series held at Sanctum Club, Chancery Pavilion, one of the City’s most loved DJs Rohit Barker set the dance floor on fire. Best known for his energetic sets with both the commercially popular tracks and lesser known gems, he gave the crowd exactly the kind of experience they had come for.

Having been in radio for over 15 years, the musical knowledge that came through in his set list was a clear indication of his passion for music. Starting from techno and vocal house, he gradually moved to the more sought after commercial tracks. Some cool dance moves were seen in the crowd and non-stop dancing took place to tunes like Stefano Noferini’s ‘Fact’, Armin van Buuren’s ‘This is what it feels like’, ‘Come My Way’ by ‘Stafford Brothers’, Hardwell’s ‘Dare You’ and ‘Invisible Voices’ by ‘Otto Know vs Dirty South vs Skylar Grey’ to name a few.

Speaking about his set, Rohit said, “I never pre-plan my set as it always depends on the crowd and energy factor. My sets are like wild animals that keep changing with every gig I play!” Performing at the venue for the first time, he added that he had a lovely time behind the console. “Sanctum has got this nice, intimate sort of vibe, which is magic to a DJ. Every venue throws up different challenges but this was full, not overcrowded, which was just perfect. The fact that people were standing three feet away from me and dancing was also quite rare and all the gorgeous women around left me with little to complain about,” shared Rohit.

Those who attended the gig made the most of their Friday night. “I love Rohit’s peppy beats. It was an excellent event and organised in a very classy manner. I had a great time dancing to the music,” added Sharath, an audience member.

Dia Rajdev, who attended the concert, said, “Rohit Barker is an excellent DJ! We were six of us and had a total blast! The experience was great and we had a fabulous time.”

The food and beverages were also a highlight for some. Preetham, who was seen dancing in the crowd, said, “I enjoyed the classy ambience in a place like Bangalore. The food and service were fantastic and of course, the music was amazing!”
