There’s nothing in this world which can replace the satisfaction of a well-made roll. Be it chicken, egg, vegetarian or any other variety, rolls tend to be a meal in themselves and are popular among people of all age groups for their flavours and affordability.

It is no wonder then that ‘The Seemas Roll Corner’ in Koramangala, is a big hit with students and professionals alike. While the egg, veg and aloo rolls are priced at a mere Rs 25, the most indulgent and expensive item on the menu is the egg cheese double chicken roll costing Rs 120, which is rarely ordered, informs Sunil Kumar, the owner of the makeshift eatery.

“We started five years ago seeing a dearth of places selling good rolls in the City. Koramangala is a popular area and we get all kinds of customers, ranging from nearby college students to families. The overheads are quite expensive but we manage to break even because of our regulars,” says Sunil.

The egg, chicken or veg rolls are offered in a variety of permutations and combinations, with toppings like paneer, cheese, aloo matar and others to pick from.
Sunil adds, “We’re happy with the turnout we have received. Customisation is the forte of the place, with the option of less oil and the omission of certain ingredients depending on customer’s preference. There’s no expansion plans as of now because we’re happy operating out of our small and convenient set-up.”

Essentially, a window shop with one hot stove to prepare fresh rolls in, it isn’t the best option for people who are fussy about vegetarian and non-vegetarian being cooked on the same stove. But for true foodies, the affordability, quality of rotis, delicious stuffing and special masalas used are worth overlooking such matters for.

Tanu, a young professional, often stops by the eatery to grab a quick bite. “I come here at least thrice a week because I live nearby and this is a filling and affordable option. Plus, the cooks are friendly and know exactly how I like my rolls. My personal favourites are the chicken and egg rolls,” she says.

The eatery is open from 2 pm onwards and located opposite Raheja Arcade, Koramangala, 5th Block. For details, call 8880041262.
