Bharti Airtel and Apple on Friday said that they have launched 4G services for Apple’s iPhone 5s and 5c handset users in Bangalore. Bharti Airtel said that users will be able to experience 4G on their mobile at the current 3G plan prices.

Launching the service, Srini Gopalan, Director – Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel India said, “We will help customers in Bangalore upgrade to 4G LTE technology at no additional cost.” Customers have to change their existing SIM to a 4G SIM to start using 4G on mobile without any need to migrate from their existing data plan, Gopalan said.

Both prepaid and postpaid Airtel customers will have access to 4G services on their mobiles with high-definition video streaming with zero buffering, downloads of 10 movies in less than 30 minutes, upload full holiday albums in less than five minutes, Airtel said.

In addition, Airtel also announced the launch of a new 4G plan for heavy users to whom it will make available 10 GB of 4G data for Rs 1,000. Airtel did not specify the duration of the data pack.
